The Maple Leafs traded forward Nazem Kadri at the conclusion of 2018-19 for defenseman Tyson Barrie from the Colorado Avalanche. Barrie played for the Avalanche for seven seasons prior to this trade. He put up a career-high 14 goals and 45 assists for 59 points in 78 games last season. Barrie has thrived ever since Sheldon Keefe took over coaching duties in November. He scored in Keefe’s first three games as head coach and has looked like the offensive defenseman the Maple Leafs traded for.
