OG Anunoby: Small Forward

Fun Fact:

In his spare time, OG Anunoby loves to cook, and his favourite dessert is cheesecake.

Raptor’s forward, Ogugua “OG” Anunoby, was born on July 17th, 1997 in London, England. Unfortunately, Anunoby’s mother passed away shortly after he was born, after which him and his family moved to Jefferson, Missouri when he was four years old. OG stayed in Missouri, playing for the Jefferson City High School basketball team, in which he averaged 19.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Anunoby comes from a family of athletes, in which his brother, Chigbo, played in the NFL for teams such as the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and the Minnesota Vikings, as well as Anunoby’s mother, who was a competitive track-and-fielder. He was later recruited to Indiana University, in which he truly picked up his stride and work ethic that we see in the Raptors player today. During Anunoby’s drafting process, he was unable to host a full range of draft workouts due to a torn ACL, placing pressure on his interview process. He found that no other team gave him the same importance and family vibes as Toronto did, as they truly tried to find out who Anunoby was, not only as a player, but a person. On June 22nd, 2017, OG Anunoby was officially drafted to the Toronto Raptors.
